Professional Practice

 

Patricia Savin, Managing Partner of the firm, is a founding partner of the law office of Savin Martinet Associés.

 

She is primarily responsible for environmental cases, notably in the fields of pollution, nuisances, the food industry, real estate, and mines and quarries.

 

She served as an intern at the Huglo Lepage law firm and as responsible for environmental matters at Moquet Borde & Associés and later at Cabinet Pardieu, Brocas, Maffei & Leygonie.

 

Her experience has given her solid knowledge and practice of industrial and real property environmental law and, more generally, industrial risks.

 

On March 30, 2006, Patricia Savin was elected Managing Partner of the year 2006 within business law firms market (Trophées Décideurs Finance et Droit awarded by a jury of legal, financial and hiring managers).

 

 

  Professional Activities

 

Patricia Savin was a member of the Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Development Legal Committee responsible for incorporating environmental law into the French Constitution. She is also a member of the Association Nationale des Docteurs en Droit (ANDD), a French national association for doctors in law, and of the Société Française pour le Droit de l’Environnment (SFDE), a French environmental law society.

 

Patricia Savin has chaired the biotechnologies sub-committee of the Paris Bar Association for four years. She also co-authored the book Les Plantes transgéniques face au droit, or Transgenic Plants and the Law, published by Annonces de la Seine.

 

She is Honorary President of the Union des Jeunes Avocats de Paris, or Paris Union of Young Attorneys and General Secretary of the association "Orée" for sustainable development.

 

  Conferences and Publications

 

Patricia Savin conducted criminal and environmental law workshops between 1991 and 1995. Since 1996 she has led many seminars, symposia and courses on environmental law for private and public organizations, including the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Edition Formation Entreprise (EFE), a business training and seminar planner, the Institute for International Research (IIR), CNPP, Ecole Supérieure de Chimie de Cergy-Pontoise, a chemistry school, within the Master of Environment, Safety and quality regulations of Versailles University and the Paris Bar Association school (EFB).

 

She has participated in several public debates and opinion forums regarding transgenic plants, including the January 2000 UNESCO symposium, the public debate organized by the French Ministries of Agriculture and Regional Planning and the Environment at the March 2002 Economic and Social Council, and the Senate opinion forum in December 2002.

 

Ms. Savin has written installments in the Juris-Classeur Environnement and regularly authors articles on environmental law for various newspapers and reviews (Les Echos, Hydroplus, Droit de l'Environnement, Le Juriste, le Bulletin de Droit de l’Environnement Industriel, Jurisclasseur Edition G, Options Finances, Technica, le Magazine des Affaires ...).

 

Education and Degrees

 

A member of the Paris Bar since 1995 and of the Brussels Bar since 2004, Patricia Savin is a doctor of private law (The Effectiveness of Laws regulating Pollution and Nuisances).

 

She holds a DEA degree in environmental law from the Environmental Law Institute - Lyon III and is a graduate of the Paris Bar Association’s Institute of Public Business Law (IDPA).
