Professional Practice

 

Yvon Martinet is a founding partner of the law office of Savin Martinet Associés.

He is primarily responsible for corporate matters and civil, criminal and administrative litigation cases.

Yvon Martinet has handled Council of State and Appeals Court cases for law firms. He has worked as an associate for Cabinet Bredin Prat and served as a secretary of the Conférence du Stage des Avocats de Paris, where he represented the winners of the moot court competition. He was a foreign intern for the Skadden Arps law firm in New York and a partner in charge of litigation activities for the Moquet Borde & Associés law firm and later the law offices of de Pardieu, Brocas, Maffei & Leygonie. His experience has given him a cross-disciplinary approach to legal issues and helped him build a recognized business and litigation practices within the industrial risks field.

 

 

  Professional Activities

 

Yvon Martinet is Honorary President of the Union des Jeunes Avocats de Paris, or Paris Union of Young Attorneys, a former "Chargé de mission" of the Paris Bar Chairman (2002-2003 Me Paul-Albert Iweins mandate), a former delegate for the Paris Bar Association to the IBA council (council member 2002-2003) and a former member of the Conseil National des Barreaux (CNB), or National Council of Bar Associations (2000-2002).

 

Yvon Martinet has been a member of the French delegation to the Council of the Bars and Law Societies in Europe, or CCBE (1998-2004). He was serving on the CCBE group responsible for monitoring European regulations governing corporate social responsibility.

 

Yvon Martinet is non-executive President of FOG (company of 230 employees, turnover of 50 millions euros, a company specialized in equipment for automotive garages).

 

  Conferences and Publications

 

A lecturer with Sciences Politiques Paris and HEC Business School (Master of sustainable development, Executive Education), Yvon Martinet conducts continuing education conferences for private and public educational organizations, including the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Edition Formation Entreprise (EFE), a business training and seminar planner, the Institute for International Research (IIR) and the Ecole de Formation du Barreau de Paris, the Paris Bar Association school.

 

He regularly writes installments for Editions Lamy’s guide of “annotated civil proceedings forms,” a top reference for practicing civil and commercial litigators, and takes part in seminars on the same topics. Yvon Martinet writes articles on food and hazardous waste and products transportation law, in particular for the Revue Options Qualité, Juris Classeur Edition E. or G., Les Echos...

 

 

Education and Degrees

 

Graduated of an Executive MBA (HEC, Paris 2003) and an I.F.E.J.I (French Institute of International Law Experts) international expert in environmental law, natural ressources and food law , Yvon Martinet is a member of the Paris Bar since 1989 and of the Brussels Bar since 1997. He is also former secretary for the Conférence du Stage des Avocats de Paris, where he represented the winners of the moot court competition (First Secretary - Class of 1991).

He holds a DEA degree in private law from Paris I University (Pantheon-Sorbonne) and completed an LL.M course (1992-1993) as a Special Student (Sp. St.) at Columbia Law School in New York.
